Unser Reisefuehrer sagt ueber Maupitis hoechstem Berg: der Aufstieg ist anstrengend aber der 360 Grad Panoramablick belohnt die Muehe. Also sind wir natuerlich rauf auf den Mount Teurufaatiu (380m), der Ausblick ueber die Lagune und die Motus und die Riffeinfahrt ist einfach phantastisch aber es gibt keinen 360 Grad Rundumblick - dem Autor des Reisefuehrers war offensichtlich der Aufstieg doch zu muehsam.
Thats what Lonely Planet says about Maupitis highest mountain: The ascent of Mt.Teurufaatiu (380m) is vigorous, but tghe 360-degree panorama at the summit is worth the effort.Ribbons of blue water flecked with turquoise and sapphire, islets girdled with brillant scimitars of white sand, lagoons miotted with coral formations and Bora Bora in the background....hallucinogenic. well that all correct but there is no 360 degree view so the author never made it to the summit.
